  • How far in advance should I book my date?
    • The sooner the better.  We book up quickly, sometimes a year in advance.  Reserving your musicians when your date and venue are set, is the perfect time get your live music organized.
  • When will you arrive at the ceremony/venue?
    • We typically arrive 1 hour prior to your ceremony start time in order to allow us adequate time to set up and discuss music cues with the officiant.  We begin playing 20 minutes before the ceremony start time. 
  • Can I request a special song not listed on the website?
    • Yes!  We try our very best to accommodate all song requests. Please give at least 1 month notice if you are requesting a song not listed. 
  • How far in advance will you need my music selections?
    • We will need your music selections no later than one month prior to your ceremony especially if you have made a special song request that is not listed in our repertoire.
  • Will you be amplified?
    • The Austins arrive at all venues with their 12 hour battery/plug operated Fishman Loudbox amp.  This amp is capable of providing clear sound in open fields as well as large venues for the classical guitar plug-in and microphone for the flute. Because it can be battery operated a power supply to the ceremony site is not necessary. 
  • What happens if it rains/snows?
    • Because of the nature of our instruments and equipment, we cannot expose them to rain/snow.  If there is any precipitation (even light) you will need to provide adequate covering or a 'plan b'. Unfortunately, we are unable to issue refunds in the instance of rain or snow if an adequate back up is not provided. 
  • In what event would The Austin's cancel?
    • In the event of a serious accident or illness, hospitalization, or other act of God would we need to cancel.  Even then, we would do our best to find a substitute or the deposit/any monies paid would be refunded.
  • What do you require to reserve my date?
    • Once the online booking inquiry form has been completed and confirmation of the booking has been sent by The Austins, a $50 deposit is required.  Deposits can be sent via e-transfer to theaustinsfluteandguitar@gmail.com . The balance of payment may be made before the wedding day or on the day of the event. If you are choosing to pay the day of, please have a groomsman or another dependable individual who will be at the ceremony site ahead of time, provide us with the balance.
